ABOUT THE WEBMASTER
Zach Crockett has been around computers since he was a very young child. His parents trusted him on them because they taught him to respect them. A computer is a tool, a doorway to the world and even a friend in ways.
In junior high and high school, Zach took computer classes of every kind since he wanted nothing more than to work with computers when he was older. During junior high, he learned his first bit of html while putting together the schools web page. That same year he made friends with the technology teacher and became the first student IT worker in their new computer lab. Working with Apple IIe's® was exciting, but he knew there was a bigger world out there.
When he reached high school, his very first class was programming in pascal. Running on IBM clones that had two floppy drives and no hard drive he drank in the programming knowledge. The years after that the school taught C++ in place of pascal, and Zach took two years of C++ programming, re-creating asteroids with a lab partner for their final project in the second year of C++.
Zach only chose one college to go to, and he got in. Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas was his choice. He wanted to major in Computer Science and get his BS in it. Unfortunately life stepped in his path and he only attended one semester there. Six years passed before he had a chance and the finances to go back to school. By chance a friend was attending a fast-track program at a local trade college and dropped his name to their recruters. Westwood College of Technology would be his new focus for roughly two years.
While attending Westwood, he started at his first IT related position at Claims Adjustment Specialists (CAS). He had done IT work in the past at previous jobs, but it was never his primary position. What started as a position with five other interns, slowly worked itself down to just himself, coming out ahead of his fellow interns simply by going that extra step. During his time at CAS, Zach graduated from Westwood with his AAS in Computer Network Engineering cum laude.
Shortly after graduating, he received a job offer based off of resumes he had sent out and posted on technology job boards. It was a internet based merchandise site, HairBoutique.com, that relied very heavily on the web and the technology that ran them. Heavy knowledge in SQL, ASP and PHP were required, most of which Zach had very limited knowledge of. Using the same skills he used to soak his studies up in school, he learned as much as he could about the languages and quickly rose within the company. He still works there as of today.
Of course then there is Tech Pros. Zach's pride and joy that he has tinkering with ever since high school. Granted, before college it didn't really have a name, or at least a set one. Tech Pros represents everything that he sees wrong with the technology service field. Knowledge is worth something yes, but not at the cost of service or courteousness. Quality over quantity, and certainly not quality based on price. A good deal can be had by calling on him, and anyone he employs.
